Silkalēji Swede stone

The stone is located in the forest, along an old forest road, approximately 100 meters from the Vidale highway.

Known stories suggest that it is the Swedish stone, and beneath it, Swedish treasures are hidden. During the Soviet era, a pit was excavated on one side of the stone in search of wealth, but nothing was found. The stories were confirmed years ago by Juris Bolšings, the owner of the Silkalēji house, who heard them from his grandfather, who came to live in Silkalēji around 1910. Even today, ancient markings from rituals can be seen around the stone.

The giant stone measures 3.7 meters in length, 3.7 meters in width, and 1.6 meters in height. It has an irregular, rounded shape, with one side distinctly slanting towards the southwest, known as a facet surface according to geologists. The stone is composed of crystalline gneiss. The volume of the giant stone is 14 cubic meters.
