Enormous boulder almost not sunken in soil. In the central part there is alcove - size circa 1.5x1.2 m, like a hollowed chair.

In the woods between Ventspils and Pope (about 5 km WS-W of it), short half a kilometre south of the Rīga–Ventspils highway, to the left. Not far from the bus stop "Grīži". One has to turn at the indication sign on the side of the highway, along the road into the forest massive.
Description
A remarkable nature monument. The size of the great stone is: volume of 35 cubic meters, circumference of 17 meters, and height of 3 meters. A very picturesque stone of an arm-chair form in the fir-tree forest. One of the most interesting great stones of the Ventspils surroundings.
Narrative
Basing on the name and a very short narration in terms of content, it is presumed that this used to be, probably, an ancient cult site. According to a tale, the Devil was sitting on the stone thus creating its form. Looking at the picturesque and a peculiar, in terms of its form, great stone, of course, one could imagine how the rather large in size Devil could have sat on it and made the cavity of a chair form.
