The 9-metre-tall watchtowers by the Mersrags Lighthouse, in the coastal meadow “Jegerleja”, and by the lake Engure are an excellent location for watching sunsets and sunrises, as well as birdwatch the wide variety of fowl species. The best time for birdwatching is in April and May, and before the bird migration in early October.
