In order to get to know better the swamp itself and the life of its habitat animals one of the Stikli swamps – Vasenieki swamp – has swamp footbridge installed. Visitors can view damaged part of the swamp while going through amelioration ditch and to compare it with natural part of the swamp which is full with life. Length of the route is 4 km.
The most suitable time for bird-watching is April, May and October when birds migrate.
In order to get to know flora and fauna of the swamp you can take 26 km long ride by bicycle.

In the Nature Reserve “Vasenieki Marsh”, which is also one of Stikla bogs, a bog trail with wooden footpaths has been built, and one can see protected bird species and pristine plants there and simply rest enjoying the unique marsh landscape while walking along the path.
Nature Trail
The length of the nature trail is 4 km, and the footpath has been made to introduce visitors to one of the most beautiful habitats of Latvia’s nature – a moss or raised bog. The footpath goes along several beautiful bog lakes. In the middle of the trail, it is possible to climb a bird-watching tower.
Visitors can see the degraded part of the bog while walking along the amelioration ditches and compare it to the natural part of the bog that is full of life.
