Liepupe (Pernigele) Church is built in the period from 1777 till 1783. The church is extraordinary with its peculiar location of bell tower – on the side. Therefore the altar is not at the edge of the church, but in the centre. The pulpit is above the altar, and the pastor during the service stands in the middle of congregation. Church bell was moulded already in 1634, but the organ was obtained in 1834. On November 29th, 1971 there was a fire in the church. Baroque style church equipment, organ and archive were burnt. In 1989 the renovation was started. On May 22nd, 1999 restored church was sanctified.

Liepupe (Pernigele) Church is located in Jelgavkrasts and was built between 1777 and 1783. The new building and equipment of the church were completed in 1783, and the official consecration of the church took place in 1784. On November 29, 1971, the Liepupe Church burned down. Sadega baroque church equipment, organ, archive, memorial plaques to the fallen members of the Latvian liberation struggle. In 1989, the restoration of the church began. In 1991, a rooster returned to the church along with the tower. New church bells were brought from Denmark. Renovation of the interior, thanks to the work of art historian Ojārs Spārītis and students of the Riga Secondary School of Crafts, made church interior items. On May 22, 1999, at the Pentecostal service, Archbishop J. Vanags consecrated the restored Liepupe Church.
