The interior of Lestene Lutheran Church (1703) has entered the Latvian art history as the greatest ensemble of baroque era wood-carvings. It was made by the wood-carver from Ventspils – Nikolajs Sefrenss Junior. During World War II, the church had suffered a lot, and later it was vandalised, therefore today only the simple and slightly rough exterior of the church can be seen.

The first organ was donated by K. Firks in 1708, and in 1740 the church bell was cast. In 1747, lightning struck the church tower and it burned down, but was soon restored. In 1873 the church received a new organ.
From 2011, the active renovation of the church has started.
