Present Lazdona Evangelic Lutheran Church was built from 1802 to 1805 and consecrated in 1806. This is the oldest building in Madona town that has not been rebuilt. In 1873, the renovation of the church was performed. From 1877 to 1878, a rampart was built around the church and an iron gate was made in Riga, at the company of Rihards Pole. In 1906, the church was repainted from inside and outside. In 1926, the outside of the church was renovated, the tile roof was reset, and the tower was repaired and painted, as well as the windows and doors of the church. In 1929, a student of the Art Academy - Andrejs Punka from Madona, and Professor Janis Kungs, completed the interior. From 1993 to 1994 the renovation of the church was performed.

Madona Evangelical Lutheran parish`s church of Lazdona was built in 1802 - 1805, sanctified in 19 August 1806. In order not to celebrate the anniversary five times, the year 1804 is chosen as the middle building year, before the removal it was readable in the tower`s weathercock.
