The Krupeniški Old Believer Community was established in 1897 – 1898. The design for the house of prayer, developed by engineer Ivan Ivanov, was approved in 1908. The house of prayer is a rectangular structure with a separate narrower narthex. The iconostasis consists of a single tier of icons. Since the Krupeniški Community has always been a small one, it cannot boast of an extensive collection of icons and liturgical books. In the 1970s and 1980s the house of prayer still had a large painted altar cross, characteristic of Old Believer sanctuaries, made in the first half of the 20th century, as well as a floor candelabrum from the early 20th century, but these have now been lost. Krupeniški House of Prayer represents a certain type of Old Believer religious building from the late 19th and early 20th century, one that is particularly widespread in more remote rural areas and is marked by laconic architectural use of space and restrained decoration.
