The construction works of the Gulbene Catholic Church began in 1996 according to the project of architect Gunta Graudupe. The church was built in two years and was consecrated on 19 December 1998. The church can hold 800 people, including 200 people sitting in church pews. The exterior walls of the church are made of embroidered white silicate bricks. The church has solid oak-tree external doors, but the interior architecture is simple. The walls and ceiling surfaces are smooth and light, on which the altar stands out. The altar is decorated with an altar cover made by A. Akmene, the inhabitant of Gulbene. The organ which has come from Austria is about 200 years old, but it has always been taken care of and consistently restored. As a result, its sonority is almost acoustically perfect. The church has two towers with a height of 24 meters.
