Bērzgale Catholic Church of God's Providence

The full name of the church is Bērzgale Roman Catholic Church of God's Providence. The building works took place from 1744 through to 1751. It is one of the oldest wooden churches in Latvia.

The Bērzgale Church hosts 32 art objects, including the organ. The building is one of the oldest wooden churches in Latgale, and its walls are built of hewn logs.

The church derives its name from nearby Lake Bērzgale. The church's foundation was laid in 1744, the building works were accomplished in 1750, and in 1751, Bishop J. Domeniks de Kozeļskis – Puzīns, consecrated the church.

The exterior of the church has changed little over the course of time. The great altar, beautifully carved in Baroque style, features two paintings depicting the Mother of God. The organ is among the oldest in Latgale.
