Bebrene Roman Catholic Ch

The church was built in 1797. Location of the church is harmonised with the manor complex of counts’ Plāteri-Zībergi and the park, thus the castle and church are on one axis marked by gates of the park and church. The church has no towers, just two metal crosses on the roof – one is in the front, while other is in the back of the church. A bell tower is made as a separate structure containing three bells. This building also serves as an entrance gate to the church garden surrounded by the stone wall.

The church was built in 1797, and its design was made by a representative of a Polish and Italian artist and architect family, L. Marconi. The location of the church is harmonized with the manor complex of Counts Plater-Sieberg and the park, thus the castle and church are on one axis marked by gates of the park and church. The church has no towers, just two metal crosses on the roof – one is in the front, while the other is in the back of the church. A bell tower is made as a separate structure containing three bells. This building also serves as an entrance gate to the church garden surrounded by the stone wall. The facade of the church contains four niches on both sides of the main door reflecting Apostles – Peter, Luke, Matthew, and Mark.

The church still has a fully operating musical organ (19th century) and is important not only as a sacred architectural monument but also as an integral part of the ensemble of the manor and the church.

Bebrene church is open for visitors every day.
