Luste Castle was one of the most luxurious castles of Duke Peter of Kurzeme and Zemgale with a French garden and a large hunting park. The castle was built in 1770 by the court architect Severin Jensen.
During the battles of the Second World War, the castle suffered little, but after the war, the castle was occupied by entrants who looted the castle's magnificent fireplaces, stairs, interior decoration and everything valuable in the 1950s. The castle building was abandoned to collapse.
The castle is being renovated, the owners have ideas for maintaining it in its current condition with a small investment, laying a roof on it. The castle has a long history, shrouded in legend.
