Igate Castle

Igate Manor (Latvian: Igates pils muiža) is a manor in the historical region of Vidzeme, in northern Latvia. It was designed by architect Rudolf Heinrich Zirkwitz. In the 1920s Igate Manor was nationalized in accordance with Latvian Agrarian Reform Law of 1920.

Igate Castle is located just 70 km from Riga ashore lake what partly surround building from all sides. Castle is in silent, pictorial and very beautiful place in Latvia Vidzeme. Castle name in historical scripts are mentioned already in 1455 when Idsel Diderik Fitingof sold village and castle to Peter fon der Borh. Castle name has changed many times.
