The origins of the historic Buku manor can be traced back to the 16th century, when it was known by several names - Hardemois, Bockenhof, Süddenbach, preserving them until the 1920s. The property was named after the long-term owners of Baron von Boca.
In 1905, Buku manor was burned down, but in 1910, when it was restored, it was rebuilt into a neoclassical castle by the architect Otto Vildau. The last owners of the manor were the von Wolf family. Today, Buku Manor is a private property and a cultural monument of national significance, where restoration works are still underway. The complex also includes a stable, outbuilding.
The complex is located 55 km from Riga and 18 km to Sigulda.
