This footbridge provides crossing over city canal of Riga, Latvia. Using it one can get across canal from National Opera house to University of Latvia or vice versa.
The bridge is named after artist Georgs Vilhelms Timms – according to his will the bridge was built using money donated by his widow Emīlija Timma. The architect beind the object was Ivans Kropivjanskis from Ventspils. It is in use since 1900, originally there was wooden walkway but it was changed to asphalt during renovation in 1995.
